WORKSHOPS
Developing new skills for organizational success
Regenerative Governance and Management
Background
Organizations are struggling to keep up with change and define their added value. We need new frameworks to help us engage with the complex living systems we are part of and make decisions that are beneficial for both people and planet.
Thriving ecosystems in nature offer key lessons for reversing ecological and societal depletion and developing organic, agile approaches to organizational management.
Overview
Building on recent collaboration through ImpactFest 2024, EnPax 2024, and the SDG Traineeship program, I offer workshops focused on applying regenerative principles to upgrade management and decision-making and scale impact.
These workshops:
Introduce principles of regenerative approaches, drawing from pioneering work in the field of regenerative development
Provide examples of these principles in practice from ecology, finance, agriculture, social enterprise, peacebuilding, and other sectors
Explore the role of regeneration in responding to complex, interlocking crises, improving outcomes and strengthening partnerships.
Feature interactive exercises to apply regenerative approaches to tasks, including setting goals, prioritizing and allocating resources, and measuring results
Usually range from 2 to 6 hours, depending on your organization’s goals for the workshop
Global Negotiation: Skills and Strategies
Background
Negotiators today face overwhelmingly complex situations with a multitude of interests and stakeholders – from governments and corporations to communities and even nature itself. It’s a time when good negotiation skills are more important than ever to develop inclusive, pragmatic agreements.
Overview
I partner with Marianne Goodwin, a negotiation expert and instructor, to offer training for negotiators at all levels of experience. Together, we bring decades of experience in multilateral and bilateral negotiations and facilitation.
Our training:
Helps negotiators develop effective strategies for preparation, negotiation, and implementation of agreements
Builds skills in areas including analyzing stakeholders, identifying interests, influencing negotiation dynamics, and building trust
Includes simulations to apply key negotiation strategies and concepts, plus debrief discussions to identify lessons learned
Empowers participants to seek creative solutions for their communities and ensure their voice is heard
Is usually from 1 to 4 days in length, with instructor teams tailored to your organization’s mission and negotiating needs
Climate and Environmental Security
Background
Climate change and environmental degradation are making us less secure at all levels and across multiple sectors. Climate change is widely recognized as a “threat multiplier,” yet responses are far from adequate to address the scope and scale of the current planetary emergency.
Overview
I offer workshops and seminars on anticipating and mitigating the security impacts of climate change, environmental harm, and widespread depletion of natural resources.
These workshops:
Introduce foundational concepts related to the science, policy frameworks and politics of climate change
Explore the security impacts most relevant to countries, communities, and corporations
Highlight emerging good practices in building organizational and societal resilience to climate and environmental risks
Introduce analytical frameworks used to understand complex dynamics and design responses, accompanied by practical exercises to apply new concepts
Range from half-day executive seminars to multi-day training sessions, with instructor teams tailored to your organization’s sector, mission and goals
