Developing new skills and perspectives for organizational success and evolution

Global Negotiation – Skills & Strategies

Negotiators today face overwhelmingly complex situations with a multitude of interests and actors – from governments and corporations to communities and nature itself.

It’s a time when good negotiation skills are more important then ever, not only to develop inclusive and pragmatic agreements, but also to understand more deeply the nature of the problems we are facing. I partner with Marianne Goodwin, a negotiation expert and instructor, to offer training for negotiators at all levels of experience. Together, we bring decades of experience in multilateral and bilateral negotiations and facilitation. Our training is designed to help negotiators at all levels become more effective in developing inclusive, implementable agreements to address the interconnected challenges we face today, from the climate crisis to shrinking civic space.

Participants leave our workshops not just informed, but inspired and empowered to seek creative solutions for their communities and ensure their voice is heard.

Regenerative Governance

Democracy and governance need an upgrade. Partisan politics and short-term thinking driven by electoral timelines have taken us ever farther from decisions and actions which would be beneficial for people and planet alike.

What would it look like for governance to include nature as a genuine stakeholder in decision making? How can actions taken through the processes of democratic governance contribute to the evolution of the systems which underpin and shape our world – for example, finance, education, and agriculture? Can we take meaningful steps away from focusing mainly on problems, and toward working to realize the unique potential of specific places?

Building on recent collaboration, including our SDG Traineeship on this same topic, I’m now offering workshops on Regenerative Governance. Drawing from principles and practices of regenerative development, I support organizations that are interested developing a more regenerative approach to management, governance, and decision-making. Each workshop contributes to a global transformation of governance as we learn together how to operate in complex systems, how to measure what matters, and how governance at all levels can contribute to the evolution of human society.
