MISSION

We live in a time of significant change, in which many of our systems are no longer serving us. It’s not enough to continue fixing what exists today; we must envision and develop new systems.

The projects, workshops and research I work on all focus on tapping into the potential of our institutions to do exactly this: to govern and provide security in a way that is beneficial for people and the planet we are part of.

APPROACH

I aim to work regeneratively. At heart, regenerative approaches are about restoring what has been depleted in our societies and ecosystems. They come from the qualities and principles that characterize thriving ecosystems in nature, illustrated in the symbols below. These principles inform all my projects and partnerships and offer a new starting point for designing and managing organizations.

  • Moving into a more harmonious relationship with our planet is key to addressing the complex and interrelated challenges we face today.

  • Transformation comes from people and communities thinking, speaking and acting for themselves, aligned with their environment.

  • Offering others space and respect is essential; we don’t have to look far to see the consequences of imposing our will on one another and nature.

  • We are all connected; what happens to someone on the other side of the world is just as important as what happens to us.

  • We live and work in systems of systems; fostering sustainable peace and development requires a willingness to transform political and economic systems that promote conflict and extraction.
