Addressing Trauma: A Missing Element in SSR

Co-authoring this report on trauma-informed approaches to security sector governance and reform has been a learning process, and one I hope we’ll be able to share and advance with a wide network of partners. Addressing trauma and human experiences - both within security institutions and the communities they serve - really has been a missing element in otherwise institutionally-focused reform processes. Working on the factors that shape individual and organizational behavior has the potential to be transformative, looking forward to seeing where this work goes next.
